Nathan Elliott to be Women's Team DS
The DS of our newly founded womens team has just been set into place. Nathan Elliott has secured the role and we are excited to see his guidance and previous experience support the new team as they head into the 2022 National Road Series Season.
Role within InForm TMX Make
Nathan was a rider in the NRS peloton for a number of years, achieving many significant results. In 2019 and in his final years of riding Nathan joined InForm TMX MAKE where he was appointed captain on the road. He understands how important team culture is at InForm and will be able to bring this across to the women’s team.
In the few races InForm TMX Make has been able to attend in the 2021 season, Nathan Elliott, after riding with the team for two season, transitioned to DS at a selection of the mens events. Alongside this transition, Nathan began his journey into the workforce with MAKE, one of the teams biggest sponsors, where he now works full time.
“I really enjoyed my few roles as DS for the men’s team. I am really looking forward to help build my position with the womens team and support them in upcoming events.
DS for the womens team
When speaking to Nathan Elliot about his new position, there were some aspects of the new team he was very passionate about. The aim to support the womens team, with a hope to create a pathway to European riding.
“It excites me, to coach as-well I have a strong interest to coach and support younger riders with a view of a pathway and stepping stone to the highest level. It is something Australia has been lacking. To create that similar pathway that can be seen in the mens team is something I am really passionate about.” - Nathan Elliott
Previous Achievements
Nathan has many years of experience in the NRS peloton as a rider, along with a number of seasons spent racing in the USA and Europe.
Nathan was considered one of the best “one day” riders in Australia. To this day he has been the only rider to win the Melbourne to Warrnambool back to back, he considers this one of his greatest highlights throughout his cycling career.
“Winning the Melbourne to Warrnambool, back to back, is a highlight that sticks out to me. Along with this the Grafton to Inverell was always a race I wanted to win, ever since I first rode it.” - Nathan Elliott
Nathan has now won the Grafton to Inverell twice. A great team highlight of his was winning the TTT with fellow teammates from InForm TMX Make in 2019 at the Tour of the Great South Coast.
“The team time trial we won as a team with InForm at the great south coast in 2019, was one of my great highlights.” - Nathan Elliott
Nathan knows the team very well and will be the perfect fit to fill the role of DS for the new womens team.
