Gerrans joins Team InForm TM Insight Make

After having won the individual rankings in the Australian National Road Series, for the past two seasons, Team InForm TM Insight Make has strengthened its position as a launching pad, to the WorldTour, for young Australian cyclists with Simon Gerrans joining the team as Pathways Coordinator.

A stage winner and yellow jersey wearer at the Tour de France, Gerrans is one of Australia’s most decorated cyclists and is now aiming to help the next generation of Australians fulfil their European dreams.

Gerrans, who retired at the end of 2018, says he’ll get great satisfaction helping riders from the team transition to a WorldTour career.

I see so many talented young cyclists racing in Australia with huge potential, and who deserve the opportunity to take their racing to the next level. My role is to help give the riders on our team the right opportunity in Europe. And then if they shine in that environment they’ll turn professional
— said Gerrans, a winner of Milan-Sanremo and Liege-Bastogne-Liege.

Gerrans will also have support on the road from, 2018 Commonwealth Games gold medalist, Steele von Hoff.

I’ve been lucky enough to ride at WorldTour level and coming back to Australia, and racing for Team InForm TM Insight Make, I’m absolutely stoked to be on board with the guys and help them try to achieve their goals
— said Von Hoff.

The team was established in 2014 by Cam McKimm, of InForm Design, who says adding Simon Gerrans, as the Pathways Coordinator, is a really exciting time for the team.

“Simon’s credibility in cycling is obvious and people will trust and respect him when he’s putting our young riders forward”, said McKimm.

“Our riders have a dream to make it to the WorldTour and we wanted to provide something real and tangible to help them really believe they’re a chance of getting there.

“To be part of helping them (the team’s riders) get there is a great feeling”.

The team has a six person board in place and has secured funding for 2021 and 2022 and is working towards securing a major sponsor for the 2023 season, to cement its place as the number one destination for young Australian riders aspiring to make it to the World Tour.
