Tour of the South West: Carter Turnbull Wins, InForm TM Insight MAKE Fill Podiums
In what could not have been a more successful lead up to the National Road Series Tour of the Great South Coast this weekend, the InForm TM Insight MAKE White and Black teams were impressively dominant at the Tour of the South West.
Taking positions first to sixth in the general classification, it was Carter Turnbull who claimed tour honours, ahead of teammates Rudy Porter (2nd), Pat Eddy (3rd), Nathan Elliott (4th), Raphael Freienstein (5th), and Sam Eddy (6th).
Over the two days, the boys took to a 91-kilometre road race, a 15.3-kilometre individual time trial and a 60-minute (plus three laps) criterium, and all three podiums were covered with InForm TM Insight MAKE riders.
CARTER TURNBULL:
βGoing into the tour I was hoping to be able to pick up some points for the overall VRS as I was sitting second after East Gippsland. The first day went really well for myself winning both stages but also for the team going first, second, and third in the road race with three of the black team behind in fourth, fifth, and sixth. The time trial was similar with first, third and fourth, as well as Pat Eddy from the black team in second. The crit on the final day was on from the start with Rudy in a small break and then riding solo for half the race. A few others including myself bridged over to him making it a group of six out front with two from each InForm team in there. In the end it was two white against two black racing for the stage win where Pat Eddy managed to get the win for the black team with Rudy in second and myself third.β
