Pat Eddy off to Yorkshire for the 2019 UCI Junior Road World Championships
It’s been an incredible year for Australian Under-19 Time Trial and Road Champion, Pat Eddy, and with the announcement of his selection for the 2019 UCI Road World Championships, it just got even better.
From September, 22-29, Pat Eddy will complete in road race and time trial events among the world’s best juniors, with his eyes firmly set on becoming a junior world champion. An incredible experience for any young rider, Eddy could not be more excited about the challenge that lies ahead.
Pat Eddy says:
“I'm super keen to get over to the UK and race at the worlds in September. Going into the year as a bottom age Under 19, I didn't really expect to do enough to be selected for the world champs in 2019.
It was more of a goal to be picked as a top age rider next year, so just to get the opportunity to race is unbelievable. I've had a great few months of training leading up, and still have much more time to prepare, so I definitely think I have a chance to get top five in the time trial.
The road course seems to suit me also so I could be in with a shot there as well. With the recent success of other Aussies at the world champs, it's definitely been a goal of mine to achieve a good result at the championships.”
