The 2022 Grafton to Inverell went a bit like this.

The day began with some crisp temperatures the men commenced the race first, beginning in Grafton.

Closely after the women were away from the top of Gibrolta. The women's race stayed close together with a few attacks over the 140km race, Chelsea Holmes and Ella Bloor stayed on the front foot throughout the whole race leading Chelsea into a bunch sprint finish where she placed 6th.

The men had an interesting race, quickly split up after the first climb of Gibrolta. Each of the men put in the hard yards to chase down attacks and ride the front. Ultimately Elliot Schultz and Mark O'Brien ended up in a break of 9 that got a 5 minute gap on the peleton. From here Marko kept the pressure on up the second last climb coming into Inverell and the break splintered leaving a new break of jut three riders. Marko crossed the line with an impressive 2nd place.
